The Council of Teachers' Association (COTA) has drawn the attention of new Education Minister S Rajen for fulfilling the long-pending demand of the teachers’ community serving under schools education with regards to the rectification of Rule of Pay (RoP)-2019.
A release issued by publicity secretary of COTA, Rubi Kamson welcomed the elevation of S Rajen as cabinet minister by handing over the charge of education, as he has already been MoS, education and SCERT during the regime of W Nipamacha, the former chief minister.
“As Rajen has ample hands-on experience with regards to the issues plaguing the education sector, COTA has reasonable faith in him that he will attend to all the issues irking the education system of the state,” it said.
Saying that COTA has always been extending its support and cooperation in the entire endeavour of the state government in bringing about change and reforms in the education sector, it assured that COTA will continue to lend its support to Rajen in all his ventures in the education domain in the same spirit.
The release added that RoP-2019 (7th Pay) has utterly demoralised the teachers’ community due to the downward revision of the pay structure.
