Come October, widespread and heavy rainfall has been predicted in Northeast India on October 1-3.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted widespread rainfall and isolated heavy rains over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur and Tripura from October 1.
"Fairly widespread rainfall and isolated heavy falls likely over Arunachal Pradesh on 03rd & 04th, Assam & Meghalaya during 02nd-04th and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura during 01st to 04th October, 2020," the IMD tweeted on Wednesday.
The IMD has issued a yellow watch over Assam and Meghalaya on October 2-3, urging residents to ‘be aware’ of the local weather situation.
Meanwhile, the flood situation in Assam may deteriorate further in the coming days though the situation improved marginally on Tuesday. The deluge has affected over 2.78 lakh people across 12 districts of the state and the death toll has risen to 120 after one more flood-related death was reported on Tuesday.
