In an alarming development, three SDOs of Ukhrul district in Manipur and a driver of an SDO tested COVID-19 positive on Tuesday, official sources said.
SDO Ukhrul cum SDO LM Block, SDO Chingai and SDO Jessami along with his driver were tested COVID-19 positive on Tuesday, Ukhrul District Survelliance Officer (DSO), Dr Thotreichon J informed this correspondent.
The tests were carried out at Covid Testing Centre, Bakshi Ground, Ukhrul. She also informed that one Manipur Rifle personnel (6th MR Ukhrul) who was coming from Imphal was also tested COVID-19 positive. The MR personnel is from Keishamthong and has been shifted to Covid Care Centre at UNACCO, Imphal.
Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul, Joseph Pauline Kamson had issued an order on Septemeber 29, to seal the entire campus of the Guest House, Hamleikhong, where the three SDOs and the driver are staying.
The order also included sealing of the whole Deputy Commissioner's Office, Mini Secretariat Complex (Eastern Block) except State Bank of India, the whole office of Ukhrul Sub-Division and LM BLock, Mini Secretariat Complex (Northern Block), the Camp Office of Chingai Sub-Division and Camp Office of Jessami Sub-Divison situated inside the Mini Secretariat Complex, Hamleikhong, Ukhrul.
CMO Ukhrul, Dr. Kapangring A Shimray informed this correspindent that contact tracing and testing is still going on. He informed that the three SDOs and the driver will be shifted to Covid Care Centre at TK Woodland, Shirui.
There is an apprehension of community transmission in Ukhrul. During this time, many villagers are submitting their documents to their concerned SDOs related to MGNREGS work being taken up in their respective villages. This is adding to the apprehension that there is much higher probabilities of community transmission.
