An Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)for implementation of Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB –PMJAY) was signed between Shija Eye Care Foundation, State Health Agency, Manipur and Medi Assist Insurance TPA Pvt. Ltd. on September 23.
 
With the signing of the said MOU, beneficiaries of AB – PMJAY can avail the advanced eye care services of Shija Eye Care Foundation.
 
A release issued by deputy general manager, BD and Operations, Santosh Shekhar on Sunday stated that the signed MOU was handed over to senior advocate, Manipur High Court and secretary of Shija Foundation, Ch Dhananjoy on the occasion of 2nd anniversary of AB – PMJAY during a function held at the office of the deputy commissioner, Imphal West.
 
In the function, Arogya Mitra, Laishram Gunachandra of Shija Hospitals was awarded the best Arogya Mitra in private hospital category for reliable and consistent service and support at Shija Hospitals help-desk. He was given a certificate and a cash award of Rs 5, 000, said the release.
 
It further said that Shija Eye Care Foundation with six full time specialists with sub specialty supported by more than 50 staff is mentored by LAICO and Aravind Eye Care Systems, Madurai.
 
The facilities available at Shija Eye Care Foundation are Glaucoma, Cornea, Diabetic Retinopathy, Cataract, Pediatric Ophthalmology & Squint, Oculoplasty, Ptosis, Entropion, Ectropion, Orbitotomy, Community Ophthalmology among others, it added.
