Governor’s Award conferred to HSLC exam topper Reshmi Nandeibam

The awards are presented by the Library and Information Centre, Kakching every year to the outstanding achievers of Kakching as well as other districts of the state in different fields or categories.

Library and Information Centre, Kakching on Sunday organised ‘22nd Awards Presentation Function 2020’ at the auditorium of the centre.

The main programmes of the event included floral tributes to the departed souls of the founders of the centre, release of souvenir for the year 2020 and awards presentation, followed by short speeches on COVID-19 awareness. Altogether 21 awards were presented at the event.

The most prestigious award among them is ‘Governor’s Award (Kakching Library Award)’ which was conferred to the first position holder in HSLC examination 2020, Reshmi Nandeibam. The award is being donated by the Governor of Manipur and general public of Kakching and it contains a cash award of Rs 10,000 with a certificate.

The other awards that were presented included Phanjoubam Gourahari Singh Awards, Kshetrimayum Sanajaoba Singh-Smt Amureima Devi Award, Kshetrimayum Ibohal Singh Award, Kshetrimayum Kulachandra Singh and Shija Devi Awards, Naorem Ganga Singh Award, Yengkhom Yaima Singh Medical Scholarship, Naorem Amuba Singh Teacher Award, Naorem Niranjoi Memorial Meritorious Award, Moiranthem Toyaima Memorial Award, Dr Kshetrimayum Ratan Singh Memorial Sports Award, Yengkhom Nimai Singh Memorial Award, Oja Achouba Merit Award, Naorem Bhubol Memorial Awards, Naorem Rakesh Commemorative Award, Nongmaithem Kokngang Singh and Maipak Devi Memorial Award, Naorem Nillachandra Singh Memorial Award, Yengkhom Ibochou Singh and Tanou Devi Best Manipuri Pony Farmer Award, Thambal Maipak Memorial Award, Mayanglambam Ratan Singh and Family Awards and Leeching Lambi Awards.

The awards are presented by the Library and Information Centre, Kakching every year to the outstanding achievers of Kakching as well as other districts of the state in different fields or categories.

Speaking on the occasion, secretary of the centre, Ksh Joykumar said that the centre was established in the year 1994 and presentation of award started from 1999. For this year, altogether 21 awards were presented with a total number of 32 recipients, he added.

“The centre has been actively functioning since its establishment in 1994 with the help extended by the Kakching people,” said Joykumar. It may be mentioned that the event was organised with strict adherence to SOPs of COVID-19 and other protocols.
