248 new positive cases push COVID-19 confirmed tally to 10,299 cases in Manipur

The new Covid-19 positive cases included 68 personnel of the Central Armed Police Force on Sunday.

For the second consecutive day, the number of new COVID-19 positive cases in a span of 24 hours remained above 200 mark in Manipur, pushing the state's tally to 10,299 total confirmed cases on Sunday.

The state on Sunday registered 248 new Covid-19 positive cases, including 68 personnel of the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF), a release from the COVID-19 Common Control Room stated.

As many as 180 persons from general population were confirmed of COVID-19 positive. They are 105 from Imphal West, nine from Thoubal, one each from Senapati, Kamjong, Jiribam, Kangpokpi and Churachandpur, four each from Ukhrul and Kakching, 35 from Imphal East, eight from Bishnupur, three from Tamenglong and seven from Chandel. The total cumulative number of active cases is 2,359 and the death toll is 64.

Meanwhile, only five persons from general population were returnees from other states and the rest 175 new cases are locals with no travel history.

On Sunday, 195 persons were discharged and the number of recovered persons surged to 7,876. The recovery rate is 76.47 per cent, the release also added.

"If you were in contact with a positive person, isolate immediately. Contact Covid control room or CMO for testing. Together we can break the COVID chain," the release mentioned.

The public can also avail online teleconsultation by government doctors from home between 10 am and 3 pm every day except Sunday by downloading ‘eSanjeevaniOPD’ app at Google Play Store or by visiting the website ‘www.esanjeevani.opd.in,’ the release added.
