ZUF clarifies on 'suspected ZUF'

The media has been requested not to use the name of ZUF without authenticating from the concerned authority in the future.

The Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) clarified that Samuel Pamei son of Lanchungrei Pamei of Longjang Village and Huram Kamei son of Jianchuimei Kamei of Lubanglong Village, Khoupum, who was arrested by the police as “suspected ZUF” are no longer members of the outfit.

A release signed by the information and publicity secretary, KD Gangmei, Samuel Pamei and Huram Kamei defected from the ZUF and had joined NSCN (U) on October 26, 2019 under the leadership of one Raitu Chawang and one Sinthuingam Kamson alias S Kamsom.

After leaving their parent organisation the two individuals have been involved in various crimes such as extortion from contractors and government employees, kidnapping for ransom, torturing innocent civilians and looting the public among others to meet their needs. Their anti-people actions have created chaos in the Zeliangrong inhabited areas, it said.

The ZUF warned that they would be compelled to take stringent measures if the duo continue to disturb the tranquility of Zeliangrong area with their nefarious activities.
