On September 11, the Mizoram government had to impose a lockdown in the Municipal area of the state capital Aizawl following the surge in the COVID-19 cases in the state capital.

However, compared to other Northeastern states, Mizoram’s COVID-19 tally is low. The state has also not reported any COVID-19 related fatality case till date.

It can be noted here that the state government had expressed concern recently with regard to the availability of facilities to address the rising cases of COVID-19 in the state.
