Expressing discontent over the appointment of principal incharge of District Institute of Education and Training ( DIET) Imphal east, DIET Employees Association (DEA) has appealed to the department concerned to cancel the order.
Stating that the appointment order violates the seniority list of lecturers of DIET notified by joint secretary, SCERT, Manipur S. Kholia Larho on February 7, 2017 published in Manipur Gazette on September 11, 2019, DEA also warns of agitations if their demands are not fulfilled.
A release by president of DEA, Radhakanta Singh on Sunday stated that the association has repeatedly appealed to the concerned authority to appoint the principal in charge on seniority basis.
However, the newly appointed incharge stands in the serial number 50 of seniority list of lecturers published in Manipur gazette on September 11, 2019 and there are many lecturers who are much senior than him.
A person who is to be appointed as principal should be master with 55 percent with M.Ed, M.A Education. However, the educational qualification of newly appointed in charge is M.SC with below 55 percent and only a B.Ed, the release said.
