Arunachal Pradesh’s COVID-19 tally climbs to 6,851

The state on Friday reported 159 new COVID-19 cases, including 15 Central security personnel.

Arunachal Pradesh on Friday reported 159 more COVID-19 patients. With it, the COVID-19 tally in the state has risen to 6,851, the state health department said.

The 159 new COVID-19 positive cases included 15 security personnel. "Eleven Army jawans and four Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel are among the new patients," State Surveillance Officer, Dr L Jampa, said.

The official also said that 12 Border Roads Organisation (BRO) personnel and one personnel of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have been tested positive for the disease.

Of the new cases on Friday, the Capital Complex region reported 88 new cases and 11 each were reported from West Kameng and Lower Subansiri.

Meanwhile, the active coronavirus cases rose to 1,871, while 4,967 people have recovered from the disease and 13 patients have died of the infection so far. The recovery rate in the state stands at 72.50 per cent, according to the state health department.
