Asian Games gold medalist Dingko Singh has tested positive for COVID-19, according to reports on Sunday.
The 41-year-old pugilist from Manipur, who is battling cancer, was flown to Delhi on April 25 for a radiation therapy. His scheduled radiotherapy was delayed due to the COVID-19 lockdown, the reports said.
He had returned to his home state by road- a 2,400-km journey, after being diagnosed with jaundice, the reports added.
Dingko Singh created history by clinching a gold medal in the 1998 Asian Games in Bangkok at the age of 16. An Arjuna and Padma Shri awardee, Singh is now a coach of the Sports Authority of India.
