Assam on Sunday registered 67 new cases of COVID-19, taking the total number of cases in the state to 1,339, including 1,147 active cases and 185 recovered cases, official sources said.
Of the new cases, Tinsukia reported 16 cases, Goalpara 10, Kokrajhar nine, seven cases each from Sivasagar and Nagaon, Sonitpur five, Dibrugarh four, Karimganj three, while Kamrup, Golaghat and Baksa reported two cases each, Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said in a tweet.
"67 new cases of #COVID19+. 16 Tinsukia, 10 Goalpara, 9 Kokrajhar, 7 Sivasagar, 7 Nagaon, 5 Sonitpur, 3 Karimganj, 2 Kamrup, 2 Golaghat, 2 Baksa," the minister tweeted.

The health minister also said that as many as 123 new COVID-19 cases were reported on Sunday. While the virus had claimed four lives in the state, three patients have migrated to other states.
Meanwhile, 22 more patients were discharged from different hospitals on Sunday after they tested negative for COVID-19 twice.
Sarma said that of the 22 recovered cases, 16 patients were discharged from Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital (MMCH), Guwahati, four patients from Silchar Medical College Hospital (SMCH) and two patients from Jorhat Medical College Hospital (JMCH).
"Glad to share that 22 more patients have been discharged today after they tested negative for #COVID19 twice. MMCH 16; SMCH 04; JMCH 2," the minister tweeted.
Earlier in the day, 56 new cases were reported in Assam, taking the total number of COVID-19 cases in the state to 1272. Lakhimpur reported 18 cases, Barpeta 12, Udalguri seven, five cases each from Baksa and Dhubri, Kamrup three, two each from Dhemaji and Airport and Nalbari one. The health minister said one case was yet to be ascertained.
