A local arms maker was arrested and his manufactured items along with several ATM cards were seized in a joint operation launched by 25 Assam Rifles, 33 Assam Rifles and Churachandpur Police on September 13..
Based on input about the presence of arms manufacturer in the general area of Dorcas Veng, New Lamka,a special joint operation was launched by 25 Assam Rifles, 33 Assam Rifles and Churachandpur police on September 13, in which a local arms manufacturer was apprehended.
The apprehended person was identified as Mang Suanleng, 24, son of (Late) Hauthenlal of Dorcas Veng, Churachandpur.
According to police sources, multiple ATM cards, one 12 bore double barrel rifle, two 12 bore single barrel rifle, one under fabrication 12 bore single barrel without butt, one under fabrication 12 bore barrel without mechanism, two under fabrication air gun, one under fabrication 9mm pistol body without barrel, one under fabrication 9mm magazine, four trigger mechanism, one 12 bore butt and forehand guard, two 9mm ball rounds, one under fabrication .22 barrel, one under fabrication 12 bore barrel, one under fabrication 12 bore mechanism, two misc parts, two drill bit and one wooden drill were seized from the apprehended person’s possession.
The arm manufacturer and the seized items have been handed over to Churachandpur Police Station for further necessary action, it added.
