Ahead of the Kuki Black Day observation, ‘Kalbi 40-the forty steps for self-improvement and transformation’, a book written by Vumkhoneh Haokip was released at Kuki Inn, Imphal.
The releasing ceremony of the much awaited book was attended by president, Kuki Inpi Manipur Khaimang Chongloi as chief guest and it was released in the presence of president KSO general headquarters Paotinthang Lupheng, who attended the function as president and general secretary KBC reverend M Thongkhosei as dedication minister.
It is said that Kalbi-40 is a community oriented, self improvement book calling for changes and community transformation.
The author of the book Vumkhoneh Haokip is the son of Vumkhothang Haokip and Ngaikhoneng Haokip. He completed MBBS at RIMS, Imphal and finished MD (Public Health and Community Medicine) at AIIMS, New Delhi. He also completed Diploma in Ultrasonography, Diploma in Diabetes, and holds a certificate in Thyroid Health Training.
He had served as medical consultant in UNFPA, public health specialist in Central Health Education Bureau, New Delhi; deputy director, All India Institute of Hygiene and Public Health, Kolkata and assistant professor, JNIMS Imphal.
Presently, Dr Vumkhoneh Haokip is the chief medical officer and joint director, Tribal Affairs and Hills department, Manipur. He is also the founder and consultant of Samaritan Health Care, New Lambulane.
Some of his famous books are HIV/AIDS, Diabetes and its treatment, Tintong Haokip, Chief of Laijang. The releasing ceremony was held following strict COVID-19 SOPs.
