Modi 2.0 First Anniversary: Manipur BJP terms period under PM Modi as 'Golden Period'
The state BJP stated that the Modi government had criminalised ‘triple talaq’, repelled article 370 by the Parliament and created a separate state of Ladakh as a union territory and others.
As the Narendra Modi-led BJP government completed the first year of its second term on Saturday, the Manipur BJP started celebrating the first anniversary and termed the period under PM Modi as a "Golden Period" in the history of India.
A release issued by state BJP president expressed the party’s gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi. "Under his leadership, Narendra Modi has contributed towards launching of activities for the country and for that reason, his period of being a leader is known as the ‘Golden Period in the history of India’," it said.
It further mentioned that for the welfare of the people, Modi government had criminalised ‘triple talaq’, repelled article 370 by the Parliament and created a separate state of Ladakh as a union territory and others. To avail the benefit for refugees to return to India, Citizenship Amendment Act was passed, it said.
Various steps are being undertaken for the needy, migrant workers, farmers and others to reduce their suffering during the lockdown, the release said. To become a ‘Self Reliant India’ Modi led government has sanctioned Rs 20 lakh crore packages, it added.
The weeklong celebration will continue till June 5 and during the observation, various workers of the party will take measures for giving benefits for the needy persons who are being affected due to the lockdown, the release stated.
It further mentioned that a state level programme will be held at a state party office located at Canchipur on June 5, it added.
