Sikkim's COVID-19 confirmed cases near 2000 mark

The total number of COVID-19 confirmed cases in the state rose to 1989 on Thursday.

COVID-19 in Sikkim is nearing 2000 mark as 31 more people tested positive for the infection, taking the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 1989 on Thursday, according to the state health department.

The total number of active cases stood at 553 as 16 more patients recovered. The number of recovery cases is 1429 as of Thursday afternoon.

The total number of death remains seven as no new deaths due to COVID-19 were reported so far. Of the total confirmed cases, East Sikkim registered the highest number of COVID-19 patients 1,426, according to the state data.
