Missing girl from Churachandpur found in Rajasthan; accused kidnapper arrested

The girl had gone missing since August 31.

A girl from Churachandpur, who has been found missing since August 31 was reported found in Rajasthan and the accused kidnapper arrested, according to sources.

As the girl went missing, an FIR was registered on a kidnapping case on September 1 that the girl has been missing since August 31 from Compound Veng, D Phailian, Churachandpur district.

Following the FIR, it was found that the girl was kidnapped by one Sandeep Kumar, 30, from Dungarpur, Rajasthan.

Under Additional SP (IUCAW) Hasby Haokip and overall supervision of SP, Churachandpur, Amrita Sinha, a close coordination was established with the Rajasthan Police which led to the hunt for the accused and the victim.

A rescue team led by SI, T Seikhotinlal Haokip with ASI, PT Dodoi and a releative of the victim left Imphal for Rajasthan.

The accused person was arrested on September 5 at 10:30 am. The team along with the rescued victim and the accused returned to Imphal on September 8. Further investigation is underway as per the police sources
