AIMS invites application for painting competition on Hijam Irawat Memorial Day

AIMS said only the first 100 applicants will be given the opportunity to take part in the competition.

The Apunba Ireipak Maheiroi Sinpanglup (AIMS) is gearing up to observe Hijam Irawat Memorial Day on September 30 at its office located at Kwakeithel Bazaar, Imphal with a painting competition for school students.

AIMS has been organising Hijam Irawat Memorial Day every year with an objective to propagate the ideas, sacrifice, dedication and determination of freedom fighter, Hijam Irawat to the younger generations, a release stated.

As a part of the annual programme, AIMS conducts storytelling and painting competition every year. However, due to the ongoing pandemic, the student body has planned to organise only painting competition under the theme "Eikhoi gi khunaida Lamyanba Hijam Irawat ki Thoudang", which will be for the students from Class VI to XII, it added.

AIMS said only the first 100 applicants will be given the opportunity to take part in the competition. The winner of the competition will be given a cash prize of Rs 15,000 with a certificate, followed by Rs 10,000 and Rs 7000 with certificates each for the second and third position holders respectively, it added.

Consolation prizes will also be given to five competitors. Interested students can avail the application forms for participation in the painting competition from AIMS head office at Kwakeithel Bazaar and the filled-up forms are to be submitted before September 20, the release stated.
