All Tribal Students’ Union Manipur (ATSUM) extended help to helpless Northeast students, specially the Manipuris in Chandigarh who were left behind in the government’s evacuation programme.
The student body secretary, youth affairs and sports, Lamcha Chongloi contacted the Kalyan Ashram Samiti Manipur office Imphal for helping the stranded Manipuris in Chandigarh. The Ashram responded immediately with maximum cooperation and contacted their branch in Chandigarh to help the stranded Manipuris in Chandigarh.
Lamcha said that with the intervention of the Kalyan Ashram Samiti, Chandigarh, ATSUM helped the poor stranded needy NE/Manipuris (the Nagas, the Kukis, the Meitei and the Mizos) in Chandigarh following my appeal. He also said that the entire Samaritan operation was successful with the kind help of the selfless service rendered by the executives of the KSO Chandigarh.

The KSO earlier sought help from MLAs and ministers from Manipur but were answered with www.tengbang.in only and no help either in cash or kind was rendered, he added.
Meanwhile, ATSUM, on behalf of the stranded NE people in Chandigarh, expressed gratefulness to the Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram Samiti Chandigarh, the Kalyan Ashram Samiti Manipur and the Kuki Students Organisation Chandigarh in carrying out the good Samaritan operation and appeal to continue the same in times of need in the coming days while combating the pandemic COVID-19.
