COVID-19 in Manipur: One more tests positive, total cases rise to 60

The new patient is a returnee from Gujarat, the state health department said.

Manipur reported one more COVID-19 case after a 19-year-old girl from Imphal West district test positive for the virus, taking the number of confirmed cases in the state to 60, the state health department said on Saturday. 

The new case was confirmed late Friday at the VRDL of Regional Institute of medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, state health department spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang said in a statement while adding that the new COVID-19 patient is a returnee from Gujarat.

"She is from Kanglatongbi area, Imphal west. She returned to the state from Gujarat. She will be shifted to the Covid Care facility at RIMS. Her condition is stable," Mangang stated.

On Friday, with four new COVID-19 cases, the total number of positive cases in the state stood at 59, the state health department stated.
