JAC against killing of ATM security guard Arambam Ranjan seeks support for justice

JAC convenor Siren Ibungo Singh said that until the culprits are booked and justice is served as per law of the land, the death body, which at the district hospital morgue, will not be cremated.

A joint action committee (JAC) against the killing of Arambam Ranjan was formed on Saturday and demanded justice for the deceased who was shot by unidentified men while he was on duty as security guard near the ATM booth of SBI main branch, Churachandpur.

Condemning the killing, a peaceful protest was carried out by Meira Paibis on Friday night, which was supported by the civil voluntary organisations (CVOs) of the district.

While appreciating the CVOs for their help so far, JAC convenor Siren Ibungo Singh said that until the culprits are booked and justice is served as per law of the land, the death body, which at the district hospital morgue, will not be cremated.

Singh continued that if necessary, agitation will be started by the JAC with cooperation from the CVOs. The police department has been sought to nab the culprits at the earliest and if the responsible department fails to function effectively, the JAC will take action accordingly considering the development of the case, he added.

Ibungo also said that a joint meeting of the CVOs and JAC was held on Saturday at Khuga Tampak, where the heinous killing of Arambam Ranjan was strongly condemned.

A release that was issued in the meeting has stated that the JAC has appreciated all the CVOs for showing solidarity to the bereaved family, and asked for support and cooperation of the entire philanthropic organisations from various sections of the district in the fight for justice for the deceased.
