“Teaching is a noble profession as teachers are the real source of knowledge and wisdom which they impart to their students. Their sacrifice is silent but tremendous. Celebration of Teachers Day is also a tribute to S Radhakrishnan, a scholar, a statesman and a respected teacher who shaped many minds and served India.

“Teachers should instil in children values of sacrifice, tolerance, pluralism, understanding and comparison and by doing so, they will be paying true homage to S Radhakrishnan.”

Extending his greetings, Chief Minister N Biren said, “Teachers’ Day is celebrated on the birthday of late Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan as a mark of tribute to the contribution made by teachers to the society.

“Teachers unravel talents and demystify complexities, and they teach us life skills and help us to choose between right and wrong, his message stated. “They mentor young minds and guide them to become responsible citizens.
