4,330 COVID-19 patients recover in Manipur

The state's positive tally rose to 6,252 as 140 more people tested positive for Coronavirus on Monday.

Manipur on Monday reported 6,252 COVID-19 confirmed tally as 140 more people tested positive for the virus.

The state health department stated in a release that of the 6252 confirmed tally, 4,330 patients have recovered while 28 patients have died and the number of active cases remain 1,804 till date.

Of the new COVID-19 positive cases, 103 cases - 82 males and 21 females are from the general population and 37 Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) personnel, a release issued from the COVID-19 Common Control Room stated.

The new cases included 26 from Imphal West, 21 from Imphal East, 17 from Thoubal, 11 from Tengnoupal, nine from Jiribam, eight from Ukhrul, five from Churachandpur, and one each from Bishnupur, Kangpokpi and Chandel, the release stated.

Six persons out of the general population are returnees from other states while the rest 97 are locals without any significant travel history, it stated.

Meanwhile, 91 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours after they were found COVID-19 free on RT PCR test. Of the total recovered cases, 3,500 are from the general population and 830 are Central Security Personnel, it stated.

With the 31 new recoveries, the recovery rate has gone up to 69.25 per cent, it added.

The new positive cases are being shifted to the Covid Care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the release added.

It further stated that miking is done in the containment zones of Imphal West district, including Sagolband, Thangmeiband, Takhel Leikai, Yaiskul Sougaijam, Chingakham Leirak Old Lambulane and Sanjenthong.

For teleconsultation, one can use a Smartphone or Computer/ Laptop/ Tablet with internet connection. OPD consultation on eSanjeevaniOPD is around 124 as on August 28.
