The 55th foundation day of the All Manipur Students’ Union (AMSU) was observed by AMSU district committee, Jiribam in a functioned held at its conference hall on Friday
Former AMSU general secretary Jiri Branch S Gulapi Singh; president of AMSU district committee Jiribam Thanil Thokchom; advisor president of AMSU District Committee Jiribam E Dewan Singh; former president advocate L Romen Singh and president AMSU district committee Jiribam attended as the chief guest, president and guest honour respectively.
The chief guest lit the candles to launch the function, followed by hoisting of the flag by the president of AMSU district committee, Jiribam, Thanil Thokchom. A two minute silence was observed to show respect to the late founders of AMSU.
Many spoke on the history of how the AMSU was founded and the changes that have occurred in the organisation since then. The function was also attended by various civil bodies, meira paibis, students’ leaders and many others.
