Altogether 81 persons from the general population and 37 personnel from the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed as new COVID-19 positive cases in Manipur in the last 24 hours since Thursday, pushing the state's total positive tally to 5,843.
Meanwhile, the death toll has reached 27 with two deaths reported in the last 24 hours. One male Army personnel, 55, from Chandel and one female,40, from Imphal East died at JNIMS due to COVID-19 and other co-morbid conditions, a release from the COVID-19 Common Control Room stated.
According to the release, the new positive cases included 37 from Imphal West, 24 from Imphal East, 12 from Thoubal, two each from Senapati, Churachandpur and Tengnoupal and one each from Kakching and Bishnupur.
“Two persons out of the general population are returnees from other states while the rest 79 are locals without any significant travel history,” it stated.
Meanwhile, 100 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours after they were found COVID-19 free on RT PCR test. The cumulative number of recovered cases is 4,057 (General Population - 3,286 and Central Security Personnel - 771) while the number of active cases is 1,759 (General Population - 1,021 and Central Security Personnel - 738). The recovery rate is 69.43 percent, it added.
It stated that government doctors can now be contacted from home between 10 am to 3 pm every day except on Sunday by downloading Sanjeevani OPD app at Google Play store or go to website www.esanjeevaniopd.in.
