Coronavirus cases in Northeast India cross 1.24 lakh; no fatality in Mizoram

So far, a total of 95,085 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals across the region.

COVID-19 cases in the Northeastern states crossed over 1.24 lakh with the identification of fresh cases from across the region. Of the total 124,100 cases reported in the Northeast so far, 95,085 have recovered and discharged from various hospitals across the region, according to official data

Assam leads the tally with 96,771 cases with 2,179 new cases as reported on Wednesday. The cumulative number of recovered cases in the state is 76,962 with new 2,148 person discharged on Wednesday. The recovery rate is 79.53 per cent. With 14 new deaths, the state’s death toll stands at 274.

Tripura has the second highest number of cases. With 385 new cases yesterday; the state’s tally rose to 9,908.The cumulative number of recovered cases in the State is 6,697 with new 123 persons discharged yesterday and with two new deaths; tallying the death cases to 85. The state’s recovery rate is 67.59 per cent.

Next is Manipur. With 141 new cases on Wednesday, the state tally reached 5,585.The cumulative number of recovered cases in the state is 3,829 with new 17 persons discharged yesterday. State’s death toll reached 25 with a new death reported on Wednesday, decreasing the recovery rate of the state to 68.56 per cent.

In Nagaland, 26 new cases were reported yesterday, summing the state’s tally to 3,778. However, as many as 2,611 patients have recovered, with zero recent discharged and death, the death toll still remains at 9 as per the report on Wednesday. The recovery rate of the state is 69.11 per cent.

Arunachal Pradesh’s total cases reached 3,555 with 143 new cases yesterday. The cumulative number of recovered cases in the state is 2,563 with new 55 persons discharged on Wednesday. The recovery rate of the state is 72.10 per cent. With no fatalities the state’s death toll remained at five.

The total cases rose to 2,050 in Meghalaya with 32 new cases on Wednesday. The cumulative number of recovered cases is 874 with new 32 persons discharged yesterday. Death toll remains at 8 with no new death cases and the recovery rate of the state is 42.63 per cent.

Sikkim’s COVID-19 cases reached 1,486 with 11 new cases reported on Wednesday. The total number of recovered cases in the state is 1076 with 22 persons discharged on Wednesday. The recovery rate of the state is 72.41 per cent. State’s death toll remained three with no new fatalities.

Mizoram the only Indian state with no fatality has reported a total of 967 cases with no new cases reported yesterday. The Total number of recovered cases in the state is 473 with nine new persons discharged yesterday. The recovery rate of the state is 48.91 per cent.
