Manipur Health Minister L Jayantakumar Singh handed over two new ambulances to the officials of Health Directorate at the premises of the directorate, Lamphelpat on Tuesday. Each ambulance will be used in Imphal West and Jiribam district.
Delivering his speech during the function, Jayantakumar said that there is an essence of improving the infrastructure to fight the pandemic COVID-19 effectively. However, support, cooperation and coordination from every section of society are highly needed to contain the spread of the disease at earliest, he added.
The minister said that though the health professionals are dedicating to control the pandemic around the clock with very limited manpower, people sometimes tag them with demotivating remarks and such circumstances are very unfortunate, he added.
“As the infection rate is increasing relentlessly, it is high time people should think seriously about the root cause of the spike in the infection rate instead of just throwing the responsibility to the health professionals,” said Jayantakumar.
Jayantakumar also appealed to the people of the state to be sensible and ensure in maintaining strict SOPs rather than commenting on the health professionals.
