COVID-19 cases in Manipur rise to 59 as four more test positive

All the four new COVID-19 patients have been shifted to Covid care facility and are in stable condition, Dr Mangang said.

Manipur reported four new COVID-19 cases on Friday, taking the total number of positive cases in the state to 59, the state health department stated

All the four new positive patients are males. Three samples were tested late Thursday while one was tested on Friday at VRDLof Regional Institute of medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal and all were found positive for Coronavirus, state health department spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang said in a statement on Friday.

The four patients have been shifted to COVID-care facility at RIMS, Dr Mangang said. He said that they are in stable condition and all containment measures and contact tracing are in place.

Meanwhile, two COVID-19 patients, mother and daughter from Kamjong district, who were treated at RIMS facility recovered today and were discharged from the hospital. So far, of the 59 confirmed cases, seven have recovered.

On Thursday, with 11 new cases, the confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state was 55. Most of the positive cases are returnees from outside the state, official sources said.
