The order also directed all primary contacts of the said COVID-19 positive person to report to the district surveillance officer, Thoubal for necessary contact tracing exercise. Further, it also informed that the manager of the Bank has been directed to disinfect the entire building as per the protocol before resuming the office.

It might be recalled that SBI, Thoubal Branch was also closed down for 48 hours with effect from Wednesday last, after one of its staff was found COVID-19 positive.

Meanwhile, it is reported that the last rite of COVID-19 positive woman from Thoubal district, who expired at JNIMS on Saturday, was performed at 6:30 pm at Yairipok Singa Qabarstan as requested by the son of the deceased by submitting a letter to the authority concerned.

Concerning the request of the son of the deceased woman, the deputy commissioner had issued an order that the medical superintendent of JNIMS shall hand over the dead body to the son. The order further stated that the CMO of Thoubal shall arrange an ambulance to carry the dead body from JNIMS, Porompat to the requested crematorium where the last rite was performed and take up necessary protocols or precautions to avoid any sort of contagion. The SP of Thoubal was also ordered to make security arrangements to observe the necessary protocol while carrying out the last rite of the dead body as per religious belief.

On the other hand, containment measures imposed at Charangpat Mamang Leikai under Wangkhem Assembly Constituency was lifted from Saturday following an order of the deputy commissioner of Thoubal. It is said that the containment measure was lifted after following due protocol for containment and testing for the contacts, in which all were found to be COVID-19 negative and were discharged accordingly.
