The Liangmai Naga Council (LNC) said on Thursday that the “letter” to the prime minister entitled, “Request not to change the Indo-Naga Peace Talks Interlocutor, RN Ravi before signing the final agreement between the Naga Political Groups (NPGs) and the GOI” by Zeliangrong Baudi (ZB) on August 8, 2020 “does not carry the mandate of the Liangmai tribe”.

In this regard, the LNC made it clear that the government and public in general should not be misled by the “rhetorics of Athuan Abonmai, the self-styled President of ZB, if peace should be given a chance”.

Further, the LNC said it was also compelled to say that it is “saddened by the ominous and willful mishandling of peace talks by RN Ravi, Interlocutor, Indo-Naga Peace Talks thus creating and propagating divisive policy within the Naga society”.

The LNC then appealed to the Government of India to “handle the talks in the true spirit of justice, freedom and peace and bring to an amicable conclusion the protracted Naga issue at the earliest”.
