Assam COVID-19 tally surges to 82,202 as 2,534 more people test positive

The state also reported six more deaths. Six persons aged between the age of 31 and 75 succumbed to the novel coronavirus at different hospitals in the state in the last 24 hours, the minister said.

Assam’s COVID-19 confirmed tally surged to 82,202, with the report of 2,534 new cases on Wednesday, according to state Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

The state also reported six more deaths. Six more persons aged between the age of 31 and 75 succumbed to the novel coronavirus at different hospitals in the state in the last 24 hours, the health minister said. With it, the death toll has reached 203.

The number of recovered cases stand at 58,295 as 1,560 more patients had recovered and discharged from COVID-19 care facility.

Meanwhile, India’s confirmed tally has risen to 2,771,958 and death toll is now 53,046 till date, according to official data.
