The Centre for Community Initiative in collaboration with Christoffel-Blindenmission (CBM) installed hand-washing kits for public use at different places of Churachandpur town on Tuesday.
The initiative was carried out as an emergency response to COVID-19 pandemic in Churachandpur district as the district has registered 586 COVID-19 positive cases so far.
The hand-washing kits were handed out by coordinator of CCI/DMCs, Niangngaihmang and the installations were made at Community Policing Centre, New Bazaar, at Churachandpur District Hospital and at Sumkuang Bazaar, Tuibong.
Krsnaa Diagnostic closed down
The Krsnaa Diagnostic Private Limited, the medical firm which had signed an MoU with the state government on July 28, 2018 to provide free diagnostic service at Churachandpur District Hospital has been closed down on Tuesday without giving prior notice to the district hospital authority.
Medical superintendent of the district hospital, Dr Vanlalkungi in a circular said that sudden closedown of Krsnaa Diagnostic has disturbed the routine investigation of OPD and IPD patients in the hospital.
The medical firm had signed an MoU with the government to provide 53 testing but suddenly ceased to work without any information, she added.
She has demanded an explanation from the officials of the medical firm, however there has been no response so far, said Vanlalkungi.
