Quarantine centre closes down as all inmates tested negative for Coronavirus

The centre at Langjing Government High School, Imphal which was opened after two people from Langjing Achouba were found positive for Coronavirus, was closed down on August 14.

The local quarintine centre opened by the Western Star Club at Langjing Government High School, Imphal, has been closed after all the inmates were found negative for Coronavirus.

The centre, which was opened after two people from Langjing Achouba were found positive for Coronavirus, was closed down on August 14 after all the inmates tested negative for the virus by following the standard operating procedure (SOP) of the government to combat the pandemic COVID-19, stated a release signed by the general secretary of Western Star Club W Birla Singh. 

Altogether, 24 individuals who were in touch with the two COVID-19 positive persons, including their family members were kept in the local quarantine centre by the club, the release added.

Lauding the local MLA of Patsoi Ak Mirabai and other individuals who gave financial support and essential items in running the quarantine centre, the release further added that the club will remain fully active to combat the pandemic COVID-19.
