131 more security personnel test positive for Coronavirus in Manipur

As many as 131 more security personnel and 61 general patients tested positive for Coronavirus in Manipur on Saturday, pushing the state's tally of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 4,390, official sources said.
In the past 24 hours, 40 males and 21 females from general population and 131 personnel from the Central Armed police Force(CAPF) were confirmed as new COVID-19 positive cases. As 78 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours, the total number of recovery stands at 2,438 with 55.53 per cent recovery rate. The cumulative number of deaths is 13.
Of the new cases, 41 positive cases are from VRDL RIMS, 133 from JNIMS, 2 from Raj Medicity, 1 from district hospital Noney, 5 from district hospital Thoubal, 5 from Babina Diagnostics, 2 from Advance hospital, 2 from Shija Hospital and 1 from RIMS, additional director and spokesperson, Manipur Health department Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, stated in a release,
Five patients are from Imphal West, five from Thoubal, 25 from Imphal East, three from Senapati, eight from Noney, one from Kakching, two from Kamjong, eight from Chandel and four from Bishnupur.
Fifteen of them - Six from Chandel, four from Imphal East, one from Kakching, two from Kamjong, two from Senapati - are returnees from other states and the rest 46 are locals without any significant travel history, it stated.
The patients are being shifted to the Covid Care facilities and all necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, Dr Mangang said.
Out of 78 persons who were discharged in the last 24 hours, 37 are from CAPF, 5 from RIMS, 8 from JNIMS, 2 from Senapati district hospital,1 each from Ukhrul district hospital, Thoubal district hospital and Thoubal district hospitals. 14 from NIELIT Churachandpur, 2 from Community Covid Care Centre(CCC) Kasom Khullen, 5 from CCC Churachandpur Lanva and 3 from RD wing. They were discharged after they were found COVID-19 free on RT PCR test.
Out of the cumulative number of 4390 positive cases, 3309 are from the general population and 1081 are from Central Security Personnel. The cumulative number of discharged cases is 2438 out of which 2209 are from the general population and 229 are from Central Security Personnel.
The number of active cases is 1939 out of which 1087 are from the general population and 852 from Central Security Personnel, the release stated.
