Manipur on Thursday reported 11 more COVID-19 positive cases, taking the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 55 and active cases to 50, officials said.
According to a statement issued by Additional Director, Health Department, Dr K Sasheekumar Mangang, of the new cases, seven were confirmed at the Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratories (VRDL) of RIMS and four at JNIMS.
“Their conditions are stable. They will be shifted to Covid Care facilities of the two hospitals,” the additional director stated.
One patient who was admitted in the Covid Care facility of JNIMS was discharged on Thursday after he was found COVID-19 negative. With this, the number of recovered cases increased to five, Mangang informed.
On Wednesday, the total number of COVID-19 cases in the state was 44 with three new cases from Imphal West, according to the state health department.
Meanwhile, state Health Minister L Jayantakumar Singh said that a specialist doctor (Medicine) and a dedicated ambulance would be provided immediately for Thoubal district. The minister made the announcement during his visit to Thoubal Hospital on Thursday to discuss issues pertaining to COVID-19 medical facilities and quarantine centres.
The health minister was accompanied by Education Minister Th Radheshyam, medical professionals and other concerned authorities of the district during the visit.
