An area of Bishnupur district was announced as containment zone after a resident of Ningthoukhong Ward no 15, Radha Mandop of Bishnupur district was tested COVID-19 positive.

In an order signed by the deputy commissioner of Bishnupur Neeta Arambam, it said in view of the impending threat of COVID-19 pandemic in some particular area it has become expedient to issue containment measures to prevent the spread of the disease.
As per the notification, the area under Bishnupur District Western of Ningthoukhong Ward No.9 Sangoibam Leirak, Eastern side of Ebudhou Oknarel Lambi, Ningthoukhong Ward No.8 North, Ningthoukhorg River Scuth and Northern side of Ningthoukhong Kha Lambi.
The order further mention of sealing of the geographical area, stopped the entry and exit of population from the containment area.
It further mention that schools, offices under the juridiction should remain.close and public gathering of any type and vehicular movement in the area will remain banned and there will be initiating active surveillance of COVID-19 cases.
