'Pranab Mukherjee's health condition remains critical'

Pranab Mukherjee was operated upon for a removal of a clot in the brain at the Army's Research and Referral Hospital in Delhi on August 10 and was tested positive for Coronavirus.

Former president Pranab Mukherjee, who tested positive for Coronavirus, continues to be in critical condition at a hospital in Delhi, according to reports on Wednesday.

"Pranab Mukherjee's health condition continues to remain critical. He is haemodynamically stable and on a ventilator," hospital sources was quoted as saying in a statement.

Mukherjee was admitted to the Army's Research and Referral Hospital in Delhi on August 10 and was tested positive for Coronavirus, the reports stated.

"On a visit to the hospital for a separate procedure, I have tested positive for COVID19 today," the president wrote on Twitter on August 10.

The former president requested all those who came in contact with him to remain in isolation and get themselves tested for the virus.

"I request the people who came in contact with me in the last week, to please self isolate and get tested for COVID-19," he had tweeted on Monday.

At the hospital, he underwent surgery for a removal of a clot in the brain and is yet to recover, the reports added.
