Nagaland's COVID-19 tally surged to 3,011 as the state recorded its highest single-day spike of 230 cases on Monday.
According to the state health department, the fresh cases are among the 828 samples tested in the past 24 hours.
Of the new 230 positive cases, 104 each are from Dimapur and Kohima, 18 from Mon and four from Peren district.
Among the 104 cases of Dimapur, 72 are security force personnel, 17 are returnees, 14 are traced contacts while one is a frontline worker.
In Kohima, 52 are security force personnel, five returnees, 46 are traced contacts and one is a frontline worker while those from Mon and Peren districts are all security force personnel.
Meanwhile, Nagaland Health Minister Pangnyu Phom said that contact tracing is fully put in force and all primary contacts are kept under self isolation to avoid further transmission”.
Nagaland now has 2,096 active cases and 905 recovered cases.
