Manipur State Legal Service Authority suspends programmes till August 17

However, in view of the hardships faced by the common people during the COVID-19 pandemic, all the Legal Services functionaries shall take up urgent legal aid matters and other urgent legal service activities, as may be possible.

Manipur State Legal Service Authority (MSLSA) has notified that the normal programmes of MSLSA and District Legal Service Authorities will be suspended till August 17.

An order issued by member secretary Golmei Gaiphulshillu stated that the notification has been issued in view of the increasing number of COVID-19 infection among the general public in the state and the order dated August 6 issued by the chief secretary, Government of Manipur for complete lockdown in the state till August 15, and the directions issued by the High Court of Manipur vide notification no 74 dated August 7.

However, in view of the hardships faced by the common people during the COVID-19 pandemic, all the Legal Services functionaries shall take up urgent legal aid matters and other urgent legal service activities, as may be possible, it stated.

Further, it is clarified that all the online training programme and other legal services activities shall be continued through electronic means and social media tools, it added.
