Tripura on Friday reported six COVID-19 related death, the highest single-day spike in death cases due to the disease till date, taking the toll to 36, official sources said.
The state also reported 128 new Covid-19 cases, pushing its coronavirus tally to 5,743, the second highest after Assam in Northeast. With 2372 new cases reported on Thursday, Assam’s COVID-19 tally reached 55,671, according to the health department.
In Tripura, according to the state health bulletin, 61886 people have been screened so far. As 3860 patients have been cured till date, the number of active cases now stands at 1954.
The Tripura government is taking all necessary steps to face the challenge and threat posed by the growing pandemic of COVID 19 – the Corona Virus, the health bulletin stated.
