MCDA urges retailers to open for the sake of the public and both the retailer and buyers must follow standard operating procedures while selling and buying to avoid spreading of COVID-19, stated a release. However, pharmacists are also struggling due to the pandemic as they are facing problems in commuting and transportation, it stated.

There have been some cases of wholesalers and pharmacy staff becoming positive for COVID-19 and this has caused issues, it stated. The family of some of the staff are restricting them from working including the locality due to the fear of getting infected, the release stated. This has hampered in operating the pharmacies, MCDA stated.
