Manipur's COVID-19 tally nears 3000 mark; number of patients with no travel history rises

Manipur's COVID-19 tally is nearing 3000 mark as 89 new patients, including five from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF), were reported on Monday, 

As 89 more people tested positive, the state's total tally reached 2920, according to a release by the state's COVID-19 common control room late Monday.

The release stated that the total number of recovered and active cases are 1766 and 1147 respectively. With it, the recovery rate is now 60.47 per cent while the death toll remains seven.

Of the new cases, 51 patients are from Imphal West, 30 from Thoubal, one from Bishnupur and two from Ukhrul.

Two patients each from Ukhrul and Thoubal are returnees from other states, while the rest have no travel history, the release stated.

The new positive cases have been shifted to covid care facilities while 29 patients have recovered and discharged on Monday. Among the recovered cases, 21 are from Meitram, two from Senapati, five from Churachandpur and one from NIELIT Churachandpur, the release added.
