IFP Impact: Financial assistance extended to robot maker Prem

Barely a few days after the Imphal Free Press published the news about a young boy from Manipur’s Heirok Ningombam Prem who built an Iron Man suit and robots using electronic waste and cardboards. Superintendent of Police, Thoubal district, S Ibomcha Singh extended financial assistance to the boy.

The SP along with his officers visited Ningombam Prem at Heirok Part II and gave Rs 10,000 to help him in completing his incomplete projects. Ibomcha also encouraged Prem to work hard so that he can apply for the state government’s startup programme.

According to sources, it is also learnt that the DGP of Manipur has also expressed his intention to meet Prem in the days to come.

Ningombam Prem is the son of Ningombam Herojit and Ningombam Rasheshwori Devi. Prem is being looked after by his mother since his father passed away when he was in 10th standard. Owing to financial constraints, he is unable to complete some of his projects.
