A 56-year-old man was arrested by a team of women police for allegedly assaulting a minor girl.
The accused has been identified as Langsuanthang Neihguk, son of (Late) Luaizathang of Bethel Veng, New Lamka.
The incident happened at New Lamka on Thursday around 4 pm.
The victim, an 8-year-old girl, was admitted to the District Hospital, Churachandpur.
The accused was arrested the same night from his residence after a written complaint was filed by the victim’s father at around 10 pm in the presence of witness and taken to custody under the supervision of Additional SP (IUCAW), OC-WPS and under the overall supervision of SP of Churachandpur.
An FIR has been filed against the accused under Section 8 of POCSO Act 2012 and further investigation is going on. .
