TCFC calls for extension of lockdown in Ukhrul, Kamjong districts

Movement of medical emergencies and death will be exempted during the said lockdown, the Tangkhul Coordination Forum on COVID-19 said.

The Tangkhul Coordination Forum on COVID-19 (TCFC) has called for extension of lockdown till August 6 in Ukhrul and Kamjong districts.

As per a notification issued by the convenor of TCFC Tuisem Kamkara, strict lockdown will be enforced by the TCFC volunteers to check the movement of individuals in Ukhrul and Kamjong districts as a preventive measure to check the spread of COVID-19 within the community.

Movement of medical emergencies and death will be exempted during the said lockdown, it stated.

The TCFC has appealed to the people of Ukhrul and Kamjong districts to restrain from unnecessary movement. This includes movements from village to district headquarters and from headquarters to Imphal.

At present, there are a total of 60 active cases in COVID-19 in Ukhrul and 14 active cases in Kamjong with a recovery of 206 from Ukhrul and 122 from Kamjong.
