The COVID-19 situation in Nagaland is getting grim with every passing day as more and more cases of the disease are being reported from outside the quarantine centres. On Monday, 10 more COVID-19 cases were reported from outside the quarantine centres in Kohima.
According to reports, two COVID-19 cases were reported on Monday from Lower Chandmari Colony of Kohima, two from Zubza area and one each from L. Khel of Kohima, Midland Colony of Kohima, Officers’ Hills Colony of Kohima, Lower Lerie Colony of Kohima, Bayavu area and D’ Block Colony of Kohima. These cases were detected after contact tracing exercises were conducted by the health authorities in the state capital.
It can be mentioned here that, following detections of COVID-19 cases from outside the quarantine centres, total lockdowns have been imposed in Kohima and Dimapur for a week.
Meanwhile, the state reported a total of 45 fresh cases of COVID-19 on Monday.
According to Health Minister Pangnyu Phom, 45 new COVID-19 cases have been detected from 335 samples tested. Of these, 45 cases of COVID-19, 23 are from Kohima, 14 from Dimapur and eight from Mon district.
With this update, the state has recorded 1384 cases of COVID-19 till date.
