RIMS Hospital in Imphal has been shut down till next Wednesday in view of the increasing COVID-19 positive cases among the RIMS staff and healthcare workers.
Medical Superintendent, RIMS, Ch Arunkumar issued an order in this regard on Sunday. It stated that the hospital will be shut down with immediate effect. However, Flu Clinic near the Isolation Ward and Laboratory Services of VRDL and MDRU, RIMS, Imphal shall function as usual, it said.
It also said that “Epidemiological Investigation and Contact Tracing” inside RIMS has been initiated by its Community Medicine department. It appealed to all the heads of departments / Unit heads to reinforce the Infection Prevention and Control measures very strictly to contain the spread of COVID-19.
“They are also requested to submit the names of the Doctors, Nurses and other Health Care Workers (those left out) for COVID-19 testing,” it said.
It further instructed the vice president, CRED, RIMS, Imphal to do sanitisation, cleaning, scrubbing and fogging with disinfectants urgently.
