International drug cartel at Delhi was busted and two key players from Manipur who helped in running the drug cartel were arrested on Friday by a team of Special Cell/Northern Range, a release stated.
Following the arrest of the two key players of the drug cartel from Manipur, Chief Minister N Biren said in a Facebook post, “The state government will not spare anyone involved with narcotic drugs in Manipur.”
The police team seized 10 kilograms of fine quality heroin powder worth more than Rs.10 crore in the international market, the release stated.
The arrested key members from Manipur are identified as Md Ikbal Khan, 28, son of Md Beseruddin from Kawakta, Bishnupur district and Md Ishak, 27, son of Addul Gaffer from Hangamthabi, Lilong, Thoubal district.
The police team had also seized one i-20 car (white colour bearing registration no AS-02W-3144) and three mobile phones, including SIM cards, from their possessions.
The Special Cell said in a release that the seized car was used for transportation of contraband drugs by concealing in its cavity.
The flow of heroin consignment of the drug cartel is from Myanmar to Manipur and then to Guwahati, Siliguri, Darjeeling, Malda, UP-West and Delhi/NCR and others, it mentioned.
