India’s COVID-19 tally crosses 12 lakh with highest single-day spike of 45,750 new cases

The nationwide total number of COVID-19 positive cases of 1,238,635 includes 4,26,122 active cases, 7,84,267 recovered cases and 29,890 deaths due to COVID-19.

India’s total number of COVID-19 crossed 12 lakh as it surged to 1,238,635 on Thursday with the highest single day spike of 45,750 new coronavirus cases since Wednesday, according to official sources.

The nationwide total number of COVID-19 positive cases of 1,238,635 includes 4,26,122 active cases, 7,84,267 recovered cases and 29,890 deaths due to COVID-19.

Till date, Maharashtra has the highest number of positive cases of 3,37,607, active cases of 1,36,980, recovered cases of 1,87,769 and death cases of 12,556.

Andaman and Nicobar Islands has the least number of COVID-19 cases in the country with 221 positive cases, 57 active cases, 163 recovered cases and zero death cases so far.

Meanwhile, in Northeast India, states which remained unaffected for a long time have been witnessing spurt in the positive cases in the past few days.

The alarming rise in COVID-19 in Manipur which positive tally reached 2060 on Wednesday has prompted the government to enforce total lockdown and curfew in the state yet again for seven days extendable to another seven days.
