Manipur on Wednesday reported 45 new COVID-19 cases, pushing the state's tally to 2060 so far, the state health department stated.
It also stated that one personnel of the 37th AR posted at Pailanpool of Cachar District, Assam, who was found COVID-19 positive and treated at Silchar Medical College, died there on July 19.
Meanwhile, the recovery rate rose to 68.83 with a total number of recovered cases at 1418 while active COVID-19 cases stood at 642 on Wednesday, according to the state COVID-19 Common Control Room.
Of the 45 fresh cases, 13 are from Jiribam, 12 from Churachandpur, seven from Ukhrul, five from Senapati and four each from Imphal East and Thoubal. All except the four individuals with contact history from Thoubal district are returnees from other states, the release stated.
The release also stated that 34 persons were discharged since Tuesday after they were found COVID-19 free on RT PCR test.
The new cases are being shifted to the Covid care facilities and all necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the release added.
